Mizzou Chi Alpha

Are you tired of people who are fake and impersonal? So are we! At Chi Alpha we can't claim to be perfect, but we try to be real. We desire to follow the example Jesus lived. We want to be a group of people who accept you no matter where you are coming from. We would love for you to experience the authentic friendships that Chi Alpha offers, be a part of a community of people who challenge each other to become all around better people. We want to be your home away from home. We try to be a group where you feel comfortable swinging by the Chi Alpha Lodge to hang out. Come make Chi Alpha a part of you amazing college experience.

Chi Alpha Campus Ministries is a Christian campus ministry on universities throughout the United States, and in several countries around the world. We are a movement of college-age men and women earnestly following Jesus. There are five things that are really important to our group.

WORSHIP.....This is thanking God for who He is and His awesome grace in our lives.
PRAYER.....Our main line of communication with God.
FELLOWSHIP.....Building a community with authentic relationships.
DISCIPLESHIP.....Learning how Jesus lived and following His example.
WITNESS.....Reflecting our relationship with God by sharing hope with a beaten-down world.

So where did we get our name? In the bible, the apostle Paul wrote "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconsiled to God." To be reconsiled means to be made right with God. Taking this verse as inspiration, the phrase "christou apostoloi" was rendered, "Christ's sent ones." The Greek letters chi (X) and alpha (A) are the initials of the phrase, which reminds us that we should live to reflect Jesus' life.
